Different ISP's have various SPAM policies and rules. The reason for rejections can be anything from a suspicious subject line, content in the email or comcast blocking QuestionPro IP addresses.

It is very difficult to find out what goes on because the emails do not get bounced.

Now with respect to tracking, you can use the "Export Batch for External Distribution" feature to export out unique URL's for each of your email addresess.

Please see the link below that addresses this issue:

As a potential customer, I was struck by the ratio of unanswered to answered questions on the first page listing topics in this forum.

This makes me wonder if QP's support amounts to "Ask the other users. Maybe someone will have an answer for you."

The forum is meant for customers to interact and share with each other. Customer support is for the most part customized in nature. If you really have a question (and you are paid customer) please send a trouble ticket into questionpro.

I think you need to use the "Matrix" question type instead of 5 individual multiple choice questions.

The matrix question automatically aligns the radio buttons etc.

Well -- It depends on what you edit. If you are adding options then it should not affect the collected data -- if you are removing options, then the data will be affected.

I would like to know if any problems will arise by editing single answer dropdown menu questions after a survey is live.

What I'd like to do is have a popup (!) appear AFTER they've submitted the survey, for instance if they have selected YES to the above.

One way I can think of doing this would be write a custom JavaScript snippet that pops up the correct URL depending upon the response to the question. See the help files below:

http://www.questionpro.com/help/222.html
http://www.questionpro.com/help/274.html

NOTE: This involves custom scripting in a scripting language specific to the QuestionPro survey engine. Not all licenses have access and support for the custom scripting tool.

Piping contents of Open-Ended text:

Currently QuestionPro allows for piping Multiple Choice questions and Custom Variables passed into the survey.

http://www.questionpro.com/help/241.html

Although, I see that adding this functionality would be a good idea. I'll put this on the development roadmap. The short term alternative would be to custom program the survey.

Bruce,

You can try the following:

#set ($score = $survey.sumValues("Q49"))

This will store the value into the database.

We are asking our respondants to tell us what year they were born, and want to limit their response to 4 characters (ex. 1976.) How do I do that?

I would suggest (a better way) would be to have a drop down list of all possible values (I guess 1910->199....

Another way would be to add a date/time question type that would record their birth date...(Add Question->Date/Time Question)

Is it possible to get RSS for your surveys as described in the online help?

We do _not_ support the RSS feed anymore.

Another addition to QuestionPro is our solution for plugging Viral (Word or Mouth) marketing with online surveys. This has been in the "backburner" for almost two years now and we finally made sure it got released.

The "Forward to a friend" solution gives QP users a one click solution to enable viral marketing on any survey.

When Forward to a friend is turned on a survey, after completing the survey, respondents are presented with a screen to enter in the email addresses of other users who they think should take the survey.

Respondents can enter up to 10 email addresses. QuestionPro will then automatically send a link to your survey to those users immediately.

Those users in turn can then further invite more users to take the survey.

Detailed help on this enhancement is available here:

In my own survey, I have put in two open-ended numerical questions ("How many times have you been to theatre in the past 12 months" etc). Now they have become "text" and I cannot do any segmentation/ group with that. Is there anyway I can get around it? I would like to find out the opinions between the frequent theatre goers and the occasional / non-goers on my set of questions.

And idea?

I think a better way of positioning the question would have been to make it closed ended (Drop Down list of values) - This would have made the question a Multiple Choice (Closed Ended) question vs. an open ended text question.

Segmentation and numeric analysis can be performed only on closed ended questions.

At this point (if you've already collected the data) there is nothing much we can do. If you are still in the process of collecting data, then you can change add a new question and delete the open ended question off.

You hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what I want for my doctoral research. Is it possible to have such a custom made solution? And how much will it cost?

Well...You can contact QP Sales and give them the exact specs of what you want developed.

I hope your doctoral research is funded in some way by your university or you have a secured grant. Custom solutions like this are fairly expensive.

Is it possible for me to design a survey result analysis, which will do the calculations in the background, and present the personality characteristics to the respondents (Eg. You are and Extrovert ), as well as mail me the results directly.

You probably want something like the Five Love Language Survey we custom developed for one of our partners :
http://www.questionpro.com/five-love-language-survey.html

Generally such scoring mechanisms/templates are not available with our standard self-service licenses. The the scoring algorithm has to be programmed in by QuestionPro staff.

Although this approach still leaves the possibility of users with more than 1 email address taking the survey multiple time, this could reduce the possibility of ballot box stuffing.

Our _current_ solution is cookie based and you can prevent the same user from taking the survey multiple times. This also has it's own set of pros and cons. (Ease of use vs. Manually clearing cookies etc.)

We will take your suggestion into consideration as we enhance our ballot box stuffing options.
