Hi! I am facing two problems with the use of Matrix Extraction Questions:
1. While preparing my survey, I found that if a survey participant uses the 'Save Page and Continue Later' button, it breaks the matrix extraction logic. (The matrix extraction question comes two questions later). No choices appear once the respondent comes back to the survey to finish it.
2. Do matrix type questions (matrix extraction type included) not have the option of forcing a response from the survey participant? I am branching off from a matrix-type question, and it is very important for the participants to answer this question to continue with the survey.
Any help on the above two issues would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you try emailing tech support? Any response? This is critical because I have an upcoming survey with matrix extraction questions.

yes, i did ask the tech support ......... i am still awaiting a response.
so in the meantime, i have gone ahead with my survey by working around these two issues in the following manner:
1. i removed the 'save and continue later' option completely. i may loose some respondents because the survey is 15-20 minutes long, but there is no other option. i dont want the respondents to come back later and not find the choices that they selected earlier.
2. i added a multiple-choice question following the matrix-type question. in a multiple-choice question, it is easy to force a response. so my thinking is that if the respondent does not answer the matrix-type question, the next question will force a response from them, and get them back into the branching logic.
any other suggestions are most welcome!

You can force answers to matrix questions. When you get to the screen where you edit the questions and answers - click on "Advanced Mode". This will give you a check box for each question to require a response.

Tom, thanks for pointing me towards the advanced mode option in the matrix question. I did not notice it earlier.
I wish, however, that there was a way to require response for the whole matrix, rather than individually specifying for each option. However, this is good too. Thanks.
